Schneikel presents the IEX combo can (C13/C19)

First-class innovation

Schneikel is the leading provider of high-quality, customised rack power distribution units (PDUs) and associated power supply solutions. Schneikel presents the new IEXv.5 PDU. Developed according to the latest global standards and using the latest technologies for the high demands of data centres to ensure maximum availability and provide intelligent power monitoring distribution.

Flexible at any time

With the new IEX socket, a combination of IEC 320 C13 and IEC 320 C19 sockets, you can fully utilise the PDU at any time. If devices in the rack need to be changed or updated and this requires different C14 or C20 plugs, this is not a problem. Both IEC 320 C14 and IEC 320 C20 plugs from your servers or the UPS can be placed in the Schneikel IEX socket without modification.

Features

  • IEX (C13 / C19) is a universal (all in one) socket and makes the PDU versatile and flexible. Any combination of C14 and C20 plugs is possible.

  • Up to 16 PDUs can be cascaded via an IP address and enables complete control via a primary/master PDU.

  • Multicolour OLED display shows data and alarms.

  • Built-in POWER SHARE failover to maintain network connectivity if one of the PDUs in the same rack loses power.

  • The IEX-Lock is compatible with standard power cord plugs, P-Lock and / or V-Lock power cords.

  • Built with high quality and high temperature components to enable safe and reliable operation in ambient temperatures up to 60°C.

  • Alternate cabling for 3-phase systems helps with load equalisation.

  • Full socket control for remote on/off or timed restart of individual sockets / groups of sockets to optimise operating time.

  • Dual 1GB Ethernet port for remote access to the PDU.

Innovation leader

The IEXv.5 PDU is equipped with the most advanced, field-replaceable hot-swappable SNMP IP controller. The PDU features dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, a full colour OLED screen, cascading multi-sensor ports, enhanced security, sophisticated alarming and power monitoring across the entire power chain.

No more surprises when changing devices on the power strip

The new IEX socket is the unique combination option for the C13 and C19 socket standards with maximum flexibility to place both C14 and C20 plugs. This socket outlet system is fully patented and tested by TÜV in accordance with IEC and UL.

IEX removable insert for C14 plugs and socket outlet for C20 plugs

The IEX socket outlet insert securely locks standard C14 plugs. It can be removed or inserted as required. The IEX C19 socket insert is designed so that it can be locked with C20 P-LOCK and C20 V-LOCK plugs as standard.

Flexible environmental monitoring with EMD31 smart sensors

The new EMD31 is a monitoring system with which temperature, humidity and status 2 digital input sensors are monitored (e.g. water leakage, door contact, door contact, alarm signal): Water leakage, door contact, motion, vibration and smoke detectors, as well as all sensors with open or closed function). Sensors can be used in cascades of up to 8 EMD sensors.

PDU

Power distributor for rack and server

Power distributions from Schneikel are designed for fail-safe power supply together with high-precision monitoring and control for the IT equipment in data centers.

Optimization and utilization of all available energies to control the operating costs related to the management of a data center.

Energy management

Schneikel power distributors provide real-time remote monitoring of current (A), voltage (V), power (kVA, kW) and energy consumption (kWh) with high accuracy, allowing you to trace, trend, analyze your available energy and to exploit.

Choose your control level. You can remotely turn outlets on and off for targeted restarts, or combine outlet monitoring with circuitry for comprehensive rack power management.

Power distribution and monitoring via Schneikel's PDUs ensure you have the power you need, where you need it, choosing from SMART PIM (PDUs for entry monitoring), SMART POM (PDUs for exit monitoring) and SMART POMS (PDUs for outlet monitoring and switchable).

Custom made PDUs

You should follow these 5 basic steps so that we can support you in selecting and using the right rack PDUs for your data center:

  1. Find the power entry point, determine the form factor that best fits the racks (horizontal or vertical), and determine the required length of power cord.

  2. Determine the infrastructure voltage and circuits, phase, and amperage for the rack (16A/32A/63A, single-phase or three-phase).

  3. Find out how many devices are in the racks and what type of connectors are used on the devices in the rack, e.g. B. C14, C20 or Schuko to determine the number of PDU outlets and the types and the total power required (kW, kVA). Optional: lockable sockets.

  4. Decide whether remote switching of outlets is desired and what level of metering is required (no metering per PDU or outlet) and whether local display is necessary.

  5. Find out if there is a need for Ethernet (IP) access, colored PDUs or environmental monitoring.

Security

Our PDUs support the strictest security protocols on the market to prevent unauthorized access (256-bit AES encryption, Radius, SNMPv3, user permissions, SSH, SSL, HTTPS).

Hydraulic-magnetic circuit breakers

Our PDUs are fitted with highly reliable hydraulic-magnetic circuit breakers that are unaffected by ambient temperature and support deceleration curves suitable for IT equipment. Our solutions also proactively monitor the status of switches to avoid downtime due to power outages or overloads.

Energy efficient latching relays

Our PDUs are equipped with energy-efficient latching latching relays. These relays use up to 70% less energy than alternatives, make outlet switching safer, and can be configured to maintain power distribution to the rack in the event of a PDU failure.

Kwh measurement accuracy

All of our PDUs are characterized by +/- 1% billing accuracy, which allows precise allocation of data center expenses.

Comprehensive color spectrum

Powertek PDUs are available in any RAL color. Colored PDUs make it easier to reduce human error, identify feeds and reduce the risk of unplanned downtime.

Secure lockable sockets

Powertek intelligent rackable PDUs are designed with locking outlets that prevent power cords from being unplugged due to human error or vibration.

Residual current monitoring (RCM) option

By measuring the current flowing in the protective conductor, our residual current monitoring option reduces the risk of electric shock. PDUs equipped with residual current monitoring drastically reduce the burden of regulatory audits.

Cascading option

To save on network interfaces and manage multiple devices from one IP address, we offer the option of cascading up to 8 PDUs with Cat5/6 cable.

Environmental Monitoring Devices (EMD)

We optionally supply compact sensors with temperature and humidity measurement and 2 additional digital connections, for example for water, door open, air flow sensors, smoke detectors or vibration meters.

Network protocols

Our PDUs support HTTP(s), SSH, RS-485 (serial), SNMP v1/v2/v3, SMTP and Modbus.

Circuit breaker trip alarm

Our solutions proactively monitor the status of the circuit breakers (voltage and current monitoring) and send you an alert if a circuit breaker has tripped.

Operating temperatur

Powertek PDUs support a maximum operating temperature of up to 60 degrees Celsius for reliable performance in dense, high-heat environments.

Interoperability with Third Party Software

If you want to centrally manage all PDUs in your data center, this is possible. Our solutions provide the option to report rack-level performance status and environmental information to a third-party Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solution such as Power IQ.
